I'd say it will take a few more days of churn'n and gurgl'n before a snake that big is truly "gone". As formidable a predator as snakes can be, without limbs and claws, once they get themselves swallowed like that, they are no more dangerous than a really, really big, meaty sausage!
Perhaps its a silly thought of mine...but maybe theres still a glimmer of hope for that snek! Shouldnt they have the "deceased?" status on the character compendium if they were not to get out or come back in some way?
Maybe if they do come back they arent seen as a Grendel anymore since they have been defeated before? Or perhaps they will still be used as a bargaining chip with Leopold?
