Planted just a few feet away from him was a massive shoe. Light brown, polished to a moderate shine. His eyes followed it upwards, staring up at a massive grey pillar of cloth. A pant leg. Craning his neck as far up as he could, Jalen felt his heart sink into his stomach.
Looming overhead was a massive creature. It stood on two legs and wore clothing like a person, a gigantic, impossibly massive person, but its head wasn't that of a human. A huge, long face, covered in scales, with two massive horns protruding from the forehead in front of what looked to be a massive plate positioned near the top of the head. From the back of the single largest pair of grey dress pants hung a massive thick tail swaying slightly. A triceratops! Or at least that's what Jalen thought it was called, he was far more concerned with the fact he was seeing it rather than what it was. The sight was unreal and Jalen couldn't even blink, much less believe what he was seeing.
One of several art pieces I was inspired to commission by Flintox's absolutely incredible isekai reality-shift macro short story Triassic Turmoil (written on behalf of SokeriKielo)! This one was done by the amazing- and amazingly patient- ApoHorse, perfectly capturing the POV of Jalen's very first encounter with a taste of the new world he's found himself in. I couldn't have asked for a better angle, and his lighting is fantastic. Many thanks to his patience for my repeated calls for re-drafts on the minutiae! I couldn't be happier!
