Alien Shapes 3: The Helix Formation (2025)
The third Alien Shapes piece after The Beauty of Space is even stronger evidence of the ingenuity of our brains and our superiority to genAI than the previous: it began in April 2025 as a simple spiral one block wide that I scratched on the canvas literally right before I went to bed. I then slightly widened it two evenings later, expecting to turn it into some kind of black hole or time tunnel whenever I came back to it. But when I finally sat down and finished it in late May, turning it into two spirals, I felt like it needed more, and didn't want to cover up my hard work with even a generic starship. Then, just as I was chatting with someone about it, I suddenly thought, "What if the spirals were creatures?" and thus it became Alien Shapes 3.
