New year, new ref!
Some design notes:
-Falcy is a hedgehog, and does not have a big chin like a canine. His chin becomes flush with the muzzle. It only appears big because he has a goatee.
-Falcy is nearsighted. He wears glasses to see long distance. If he's clothed, I'd prefer he have them on when possible.
-Falcy's ring is worn on the left hand and is not optional.
-Falcy prefers graphic tees, but will wear most things. In cold weather, he wears a hoodie and pants. Graphic tees might have neat designs relating to his interests or some easy raunchy joke. Think Terry from Solar Opposites.
-Quills operate on cartoon logic. Canonically his clothes have tears in the back to let them hang out, as keeping them bunched under clothes is uncomfortable. Really though, don't feel like you need to go into great detail showing this. Apply cartoon logic as desired.
-While his tail is long and fluffy for a hedgehog, Falcy's tail is still short relative to other animals. It does not look like a deer or bunny's tail.
-Falcy's fur is dense and wirey.
-When startled, anxious, angry, or excited, his quills will involuntarily raise and look more spikey. When depressed, tired, (VERY) relaxed, or sad, his quills will droop.
-His tongue and jaw are both shaped like a V. His front teeth sit a little funky as a result. Teeth can be drawn however- toony, realistic hedgehog teeth, canine, just no uncanny human teeth (unless its for a joke lmao)
-He does not have fur inside of his ears.
-His blood is blue, and any scars will appear blue. Any skin (other than ears and pawpads) likewise is blue.
-Claws are optional.
-Realistically, his quills can cause injury to others and himself if he's not careful. This can make some poses awkward, unrealistic, or difficult. Apply cartoon logic as needed, because limiting cute poses for quills isn't very fun.
Some Art Notes:
-I greatly prefer that he be given a hedgehog (or opossum) like snout, but if he gets a canine snout he gets a canine snout.
-You do not need to color pick his colors. If you want to use a different pink that fits your art style better, by all means, go for it! If you want to use the same pink as in the ref, that's great too!
-Keep in mind his hair is not hair, it's quills! It's not wavy or curly as the quills are rigid.
-I would prefer his lower jaw not extend all the way to the end of the snoot like you would on a canine. In my experience, that's what really makes or breaks the canine look.
-You do not need to draw his happy trail if you're not comfortable doing so.
I'm not going to be a massive stickler for anything though, other than MAYBE his ring and glasses. All in all, just have fun with it. :)
