I wanted to draw all 4 of the Mechanoid Defense Force leaders from Forsaken 64 in one image since the tail end of 2024. And so this is it.
These guys are the leaders of the big Skynet-style baddies of Forsaken 64. Big, invincible bosses who you gotta harm as much as possible until they spawn a beacon that allows you to win their respective missions. None of your weapons can actually kill them in 64, but in Remastered all of them except Dreadnaught get their invincibility taken away as well as their rank as the main villains, allowing you to kill them normally which is super lame. Forsaken Remastered was a thing. I guess.
And as an extra treat: Here's a few headcanons I made for them!
Manmek: Seems to think he owns the Bio-Dome, which is fair enough considering that's where you fight him. He also seems to like plastering his face all over the Bio-Dome, changing the place's logo to have his face on it. Might be somewhat megalomaniacal considering that the bioweapon samples of the Bio-Dome haven't been destroyed by his orders, as Forsaken Remastered's Bio Lab level seems to suggest.
Maldroid: This guy is annoying. He's the reason why all the temple levels from the non-64 Forsaken ports are so full of unfair garbage like missile launchers, flamestorm tunnels and tons of annoying mechanoid enemy types. Maldroid's main speciality is defence and security, and he sure shows why, having fortified his temple lair to a truly annoying degree!
Dreadnaught: We already know that he goes crazy when under stress due to a "lack of composure", so I'd say that he's the MDF's main repairman rather than a flat-out killing machine. Even the most bombed-out stronghold or production line can be made all brand-new with just a bit of Dreadnaught's built-in repair features. It makes sense since he's found in the MDF repair bay in the heart of the Military Base area.
RamQan: What a guy and what a name. Will we ever know why he's called the RamQan? He's the emperor of the MDF forces, even having a throne room in the Lava Factory. He's also the smallest of the MDF bosses, which implies that he might be hiding some second phase or final form. Which I guess we'll have to see once I've finally finished Forsaken Origins!
