Ratigan’s cruelty knew no bounds, in his anger at Anna’s resistance and constant meddling in his plans, had had enough. He decided that the best way to punish her was to give her a taste of his own existence among mice. She was dropped in the middle of London at night, and the reaction among mousedom was already apparent, she was at least two heads taller, larger, stronger and yet looked at with distrust. Her snout was too long, her tail too thick, and the faces of mice around her were all turned downward.
A look in the mirror wouldn’t usually cause Anna such distress, but she had gone from being a normal human, to a mouse sized human, to an actual mouse in a rat run world, and now she was a rat in a mouse centric world. The feeling was definitely not a pleasant thing, to suddenly be something that was not looked at with normalcy. She was no longer someone who they saw as pleasant company.
She pulled away from the public eye immediately, making her way to the only place she could think of at this time, Baker Street. She had to believe that Basil would help, she had to, lest she fall into panic and worry. She had to keep her mind planted steadily on this foundation. She had to ignore the looks of others, the words spoken of hate and rejection. She moved with purpose now, not even looking at anything save for the path she traveled.
Baker Street came into view and she knew that she was almost there, she could see Holmestead, she could see where the residence of the World's greatest detective loomed over the Greatest Detective of Mousedom. She hid her face from the surrounding mice as she approached, the window leaking into the home of Basil, Dawson and Mrs. Judson. There he was, she could see him, she could- The face of Mrs. Judson appeared in the window as she cleaned dutifully, and the shriek she released sent Anna sprawling in surprise. Anna’s mental state was not in the right place for her to witness the face of Basil, whose first expression was to squint curiously and intensely at the rat that was intruded on Holmestead. It was too much, she hid her face once again and ran.
She ran and ran and ran until her legs burned and her new strength waned, yet the barking of Toby told her that the pursuit never ended, tears came to her eyes as she didn’t want to face Basil like this. She felt ugly now, and his arch nemesis was a rat, she couldn’t face him like this. It didn’t occur to her that Basil would not care. Toby came to a halt, Basil and Dawson dismounted, and Anna turned away, desperately trying to cover her face as she leaned against the wall. “No!” She cried out, voice deeper than it was supposed to. “Stay away from me, I’m hideous!”
Basil had not recognized the face in the window, he did not know what Ratigan had been up to or if he had brought more rat’s into his fold, but to see one so close to Holmestead demanded his attention immediately. “Dawson quickly now!”
“On my way Basil!” The dutiful physician hurried after and Toby was along immediately. The rat was fast but they could not outrun Toby. They dashed down alleys and tried to evade pursuit desperately. Basil could see now that whomever this was, they were not a malevolent individual. She was scared and desperately trying to avoid pursuit. ‘So why was she at our window?’ Upon hearing her voice after chasing her down, the disbelief was immediate as he stood on the cobblestone. “Anna?!” He was uncharacteristically loud in his exclamation before he manage to calm down. He winced inwardly as his tone didn’t seem to help her mental state as she had just turned to look at him and immediately stumbled away, but she was tired, she had exhausted herself. Basil’s heart, normally removed, broke and he hurried forward to hold her up by the arm. She recoiled immediately and looked down, but the view of his face brought her back down to earth, she was stronger than this, she was able, but it was all so much at once, and she broke down into tears. Basil managed to hold up the now larger female quite steadily, though his legs did shake a bit. “There there now my dear. It’s alright.” He let her come down to her knees as Dawson watched from beside Toby, who whined in concern at the state of her friend.
“How can you be here Basil…. I’m a rat, I’m hideous like Ratigan.” Anna whimpered and Basil did not hesitate. “Anna what you are means nothing compared to who you are, and you are Anna Johnson, a strong young lady who has faced her fears so many times and always succeeded. I don’t dare look away.” Anna leaned into the mouse, needing the comfort more than anything right now. “Thank you Basil, thank you.”
Ratigan’s plan had certainly backfired, Basil was not the kind to look at the shell, but rather what lay beneath. Just because Anna was a rat like Ratigan, she was not an ugly, dark soul like him. They would get through this, and then Ratigan would definitely pay the piper for this move against Anna.

Once again we dive into the world of Silver and Gold, and true to my own interests, I wondered what it would be like for Anna to be a rat. Now I definitely want to expand upon this idea later on, but there is still much to caption in my archive.
