As if on cue, the office door glided open and a white and black dragon cat walked in. She was of the sky dragon cats and boasted some sleek black wings and a black spot on the left of her face. She seemed to be lost in conversation with another outside the door but her attention quickly turned to those in the room though she may not have been expecting Gyako and Erilia in there.
“Hey Dian, we’re back and… oh,” she paused, “I didn’t know we had guests.”
Gyako gave her a little wave and she unenthusiastically returned the gesture.
“Welcome back Cleo,” Dian greeted with a proud smile, “how was your trip, did you manage to save those kittens from the Valley of Desolation.”
“Yes we did,” she responded, “Luckily they weren’t too shaken up by it, and the village they came from paid handsomely for it.”
That’s good to hear… ummmm, where’s your partner Amara?”
“Oh she’s almost through the door.”
Outside all that was heard was heavy panting followed by a desperate “JUST A MINUTE” before a purple sea dragon cat entered the room tugging on what seemed like a really heavy bag. Gyako had never seen one before. She had yellow striped fins on her cheeks and a long fishlike tail. Two luminous appendages sprouted from her head which she would use to lure fish.
“The cats of Piton Village decided to give lots of their ore from the mines,” she said, “Though… hnnnnneeghghh… they could’ve smelted it down for us.”
“Goodness Cleo, you could’ve helped her carry all those rocks,” Dian exclaimed.
“Believe me I tried,” Cleo shrugged, “She really wanted to prove herself or something.”
“If I *pant* work hard, I be as good as you, right Cleo,” Amara said, holding onto her.
“Ummmm, yeah… sure,” Cleo said looking away. She doesn’t seem much for conversation. Zonos might get along with her.
“Oh where’s my manners?” Dian said gesturing to Gyako and Erila, “This is Gyako, he’s going to be joining the guild and needs to go through some training. I was hoping you’d be willing to let them tag along on some missions.”
“Why did you spring this on me nowwwww,” Cleo exhaled seeming very annoyed.
“Best you’re the best out of everyone in this guild,” the old grey cat said trying to lift her spirits a bit.
“Don’t worry Cleo it may be fun,” Amara beamed. She walked up to Gyako and Erilia and said, “Listen here recruits, we’re gonna whip you into shape! Break you! And mold you into the best adventurers there are!”
“Ummm, y-yes ma’am?” Gyako replied, a bit nervous from this sudden rush of energy. Amara seemed like quite the character, maybe the reason why Cleo has somewhat of an irritated personality. What was he himself getting into? While Amara was giving her spiel, he noticed Cleo pulled Dian aside. He tried to listen in on their conversation.
“Can I talk with you in private?” she said with a little smile coming on her face.
“Why? Dian questioned.”
“I think I found it.”
