Ty suffered from a lot of anxiety and self-doubt through his life, leading him to play it safe, not stand out, and just do the bare minimum that was expected of him. This left to a lot of unhappiness and bottled up emotions before he decided to make the decision to force himself to take risks and be more confident; even if he had to fake until he made it. This rather large shift in attitude has sometimes gotten him into trouble, but usually not the kind he regrets.
