This is Set, or Seth, or really one of a million other names. A tempestuous, oft angry god, prone to jealousy and rash action, He is prideful, but not without merit; a renowned warlord of great strength and will. He is just and not unfair, but sometimes quick to exploit the law when he sees potential gain for himself or his people, though many may not see the immediate benefit of his actions. Set is the God of Chaos, Confusion, Storms, Deserts, Foreign Lands, and Queers. The Necessary Evil. Also Protector of Ra, Slayer of Apophis, Lord of Upper Egypt, the Representation of the Strength in a Pharaoh, and Contender for Divine Kingship. He cut himself and four other gods (Osiris, Isis, Nepthys, and Horus the Elder) from the womb of their mother Nut when Ra, in his anger at the affairs of his grandchildren, would not let her birth them. He guarded the Solar Barque of a Million Years from the purely evil Apophis, taught Pharaohs, and guided souls of the dead to safe passage. It is He in his jealousy that did kill Osiris, and scatter his pieces across the lands of Egypt, so creating a King fit to rule the afterworld. He competed with the son of the dead Osiris and his sister-wife, Isis, made Horus the Child great and strong, and later served as emissary and vizier to the conceded ruler. And in his union with Horus, Set birthed Thoth, the god of wisdom.
Actually this is an Illustrator character drawing I did of his animal form sometime in November. And I totally copy/pasted that whole shpiel above from a conversation with ShatteredSecrets because I didn't want to be arsed to retype that whole bit and waste another twenty minutes when it was all perfectly spelled out right there.
I have this on a t-shirt. Ask Nyssa. Set likes the pettin's. Even if on the t-shirt he's wearing the wrong crown. Seriously, I must have been on retard pills when I turned this in if I didn't notice that. He probably wouldn't mind taking over another land though, especially if that land happened to belong to his beloved nephew...
If the type seems a little wonky, it's because I (surprisingly) didn't originally have the Papyrus font on my PC and was too cheap to buy the actual one online.
