So the defining trait of the Headless Hydra is that they're fine without a head. However bad the trauma of losing the head was they've gotten through it, and their life isn't appreciably worse off for not having one anymore. But still, even with a pain that you've made peace with, sometimes you feel the sting, and I felt moved to do a picture where they might feel that. So, now, I guess it turns out they had just got scuba-certified before losing their head and while it's not like they can't still go diving, it's all different now.
The rare Headless Hydra picture showing them without a joke. Also without that Pooltoy Otter.
Also motivating this picture:
sabrina-taur's nomination in my big art giveaway for something with the headless hydra (see https://www.furaffinity.net/view/60.....#cid:185412539 ). ... But you might watch this space, too.
I have no idea what kind of structure this wooden surface is. A dock? Going out deep enough to hop down in scuba gear in? While I looked up pictures of scuba gear to try getting that looking vaguely like anything that ever might have been, I did no research on where this should be happening, and I think it shows.
