Open mouths are hard to draw. They're a whole whole different but connected structure to the already complicated enough head. Getting depth, teeth alignment, gums, how the tongue lays, lips, etc right is hard. Looking at open mouths objectively it's quite odd, you basically have to split a head open horizontally in a way that looks pleasing and natural.
I'm sure you'll get it though. Some practice and good references will make it perfect!
