Felt like making a tutorial. Wanted to do something pretty basic. Actually it ties in to another tutorial I'm plotting for my digital style.
I wanted this one to not just be about basic shading (which you can find just about anywhere), but about how you can break down lighting into component parts (roundness, direction, reflected light, cast shadow, etc) and tackle them all individually. That really has become the core of my technique.

Thank you. I guess it's just the right time for me to be making tutorials. It seems like when you're a beginner, there's not much you can say in a tutorial because you just don't know enough, and when you're an expert, there's not much you can say because it has all become instinctive and therefore too hard to break it down in a way that helps (or else they just assume people already know how to do it). Hopefully I'll be able to keep making more.
