The design of the Stellar Typhoon is such that much of what goes on onboard takes place towards the rear of the pirate cruiser - the bridge, the mess hall, the crew quarters, and most of the ship's ever-changing recreational facilities. Not everything is concentrated in this area, of course, and some amenities are scattered around the rest of the ship, for the benefit of those who happen to be on duty in these areas.
The so-called Gunners' Club started off as an example of this - it was originally the mess room for the ship's gunnery team, who largely work some way towards the front of the ship. The gunners have gradually upgraded the place to suit their own tastes, and it's now developed into something of a nightclub - with its own bar, dancefloor, music...and, it would appear, a bouncer.
