The helmet is the one they pulled off the Prelature’s special aberration; Yhana kept it as a trophy but it was a critical part of its defensive apparatus that made it so tough not just to kill but to even detect.
Suraokh is speculated to be the same kind of entity, but is subservient to Jen, who seems to know a lot more about said entities than he’s letting on, especially given that he spends so much time next to the bones of one in his office as per his own confirmation in 1.27.
