Hehe... Sooo, this girlie is not a new character, but for a long while, Lucretia has been one of the 'three' of my characters that I've been wanting to revamp a bit, with getting a more official reference and really trying to decide, narratively, what route I want to take with her. For me to get invested in a character, I usually need a story of some sort for them. Something I can portray through art, typically, but at least some sort of 'lore' for them. Some are simpler than others, admittedly, while some are far more complex and thought out. Some take far longer than others, too!
Regardless, finally, I can say I've began to settle on what I wanted for Lucretia, whose always evaded me in trying to concretely decide on her story. There are still quite a few 'chunks' of it that are a 'wip', but I'm excited nonetheless to finally start to get some art of her related to said story. And with that, a new reference was needed!
In actuality, this reference was not supposed to be this juiced up LOL. However, the artist generously added on a few things to compensate for the wait in getting it done, which I greatly appreciate. In general, though... wow. I'm speechless at how gorgeous this is, and the sheer detail and care put into portraying Lucretia's grace, mystique, and the feeling of 'magic' that surrounds her.
A few things, but! Lucretia and my Eastern Dragon exist in the same 'world', in which I'll be going into more detail about this broken setting soon enough. They're two completely different entities, as my eastern is undoubtedly a deity of some sort, while Lucretia is... something curious. A dragon undoubtedly, but a cursed one. It can be seen in the odd symbol on her left eye and wings, to the ethereal fire that flickers betwixt her horn and the end of her tail.
The accessories displayed on the table are hers! There is a version of the reference of her wearing them, which I may end up posting at a later date!
