That's a good idea, although it might not even be necessary: I live in North Carolina, and pretty much all the subsoil in my back yard is nearly-impermeable red clay. I could probably just dig a hole and make a pond (I've done that before), but if I ever do it, the liner is definitely a good idea.
it is slow and stupid so it has not been able to get them yet. in fact i am often surprised it eats at all. i know i have seen it lunge at them a lot. it tries. but i still see a bunch in there. the Koi have not yet been moved into there because they are slow and i think she could get them so i have to rehome her at a local pond far away.
