I would say, normally the full page is just fine, but if there is a panel that really catches your eye... maybe in those cases using that as a preview pic / thumbnail might be a bit flashier...
But to be totally honest, since most of us should know that when Myre appears in the title there will be awesome art behind it... every thumbnail is a good thumbnail :)

You know.. I can't argue with your logic in the description... It does feel like that sometime. (As I type this while waiting to leave for the first night of my work week...)
As for the previews, well, it doesn't make a difference either way, though using a thumbnail preview would prevent someone with an absurd resolution monitor from being able to read it without fully viewing.
