Honestly the guy was kind of pissing me off. I didn't like his attitude or the way he talked...and apparently a fight happened right before we got there, he said another dog started it...but that his dog is a "horndog" and "loves to hump". So gee, I wonder what could have triggered it then? I got the feeling this guy was one of those "I won't neuter my dog because it's cruel/makes them less of a dog" types...proud of his dog's "manliness". Just the feeling I was getting from him. :\ The dog himself was very nice, although I had to say "no humping!" at one point because he was about to mount one of mine. I wouldn't say pitbulls in general shouldn't come to a dog park, I've met many dog friendly pits at dog parks and mine have played with several...but the fact that this one wasn't neutered, and his human seemed to...unconcerned about anything he did...just bothers me.
Agreed. Pit Bulls are not meant to be housed with other dogs, for the fact that they were breed to guard their masters.
They are a one dog household and unless you raise a pit bull puppy with another dog, they will be dog aggressive, or overly aggressive, or have bad "dog" manners (aka sniffing everyones butt is okay, but when one dog says "stop", they need to know to stop asap).
NOW... the man that owned the dog is one of the reasons why there are so many pit bulls in the animal shelter these days.
Who cares if it makes your dog "less"? Which it doesnt you dumbass. It helps out with health problems, weight loss/gain, temperament and several other behavioral things that can happen when a dog isnt neutered or spayed.
Plus if he thinks its funny that his dog humps a lot.. i know this is going to sound cruel... but he doesnt deserve to own a pet if he thinks that its funny. Its not.
I cant wait for him to go outside one day and find his dog locked up with a poor beagle or some other mutt and end up having the owners of THAT dog on his ass about his stupidity.

Totally agree with you about the neutering, I was so tempted to say something to him but I knew it'd just cause upset. This guy kind of looked like a stoner so I didn't feel like getting into too much drama with him, just kept my distance and kept an eye on the dogs. Pits aren't automatically dog aggressive though, I can't count how many success stories I've read about pits pulled from horrific situations - even rescued from fighting rinks, who have no problem with other dogs. I mean, some of Vick's dogs went on to be therapy dogs.
Obviously, raising them around other dogs from a young age is the best solution, but genetics play a part too. Poor breeding can result in aggressive dogs no matter how well they're raised, an example of that was shown on "Pitbulls & Paroles". I have to disagree that ALL pitbulls are "one dog" types though, it all depends on the dog. Every dog is an individual: not all pits have problems with or are bad around other dogs, not all chihuahuas are 'yappy', etc and so on.
PS: I'm all for a mandatory spay/neuter law to *force* these types of people to do the right thing.
