ARM La Pinta, or by its code name BICAM-007, is the last frigate of the BICAM class (Mexican Navy Scientific Research Vessel), built from 1967 to 1971 as an experimental class for the study and scientific analysis of coastal areas and rivers for military purposes. These vessels were characterized by modified weapons and a laboratory, until they fell into disuse in the 1990s. Today, this is the last active ship of the class and continues to be used for military or strategic research, but is primarily used for patrol or weapons transport.
