Curators each have a hoard fixation, something which they are driven to collect and hoard. This urge is so strong that someone pregnant with Curator offspring will feel the offspring's hoard interest in the form of a pregnancy craving to collect that thing. This enabled Fledge and Pages to name the offspring based on their fixations. Once they're born, all there is to do is match which pup goes with which name by setting out some treasures for them to go claim, one for each interest.

Horloger is the first to make it to the treasures, trying to get its clockwork rat. Its sibling, Dinandier, is not far behind, eying the copper key. Verrier, held in Pages hand, wants the glass beads. And Fromager elects to ignore the cheesecloth in favor of the abundance of milk that it's briefly not in competition for.
