A show I've been watching lately, "Wilfred" is based on an Australian comedy by the same name. It's a guy in a dog suit who everyone but the main character sees as a normal dog. Funny? It has its moments. I'm looking forward to seeing the show develop at least. It at least inspires a bevy of ideas, hence this picture. I imagine Wilfred is an Australian Shepherd to match his Australian actor. He doesn't act like a Golden Retriever or a Basset Hound at least.

Not any aussie I've ever been around. My aunt breeds them, and they come out energetic, happy, good listeners and very happy dogs.
He sounds more like the shepherd/lab mix next door combined with my whippet/lab mix from when I was a kid. Ebony digs up the yard and has torn a hole in the fence, tore a possum off the wall. Angie, on the other hand, was constantly chewing on her toes and following my parents around like a lost cause.
I'd consider him to be a mutt, possibly with a combination of Aussie, Lab and perhaps pointer.

I know a purebred Aussie who's happy and energenic one minute and then tries to tear someone's face off the next. He's not the only one I've seen with a dual personality. But I've met a few sweethearts as well.

It's even better for me. My friend started a new novel and I illustrated the protagonist Two Sugars for his incarnation in Umbagog. After some discussion, we determined he's basically just Elijah Wood in a bowler hat and bow tie. Now all Elijah Wood references we have apply to Two Sugars.
This makes Wilfred even more awesome by far.
