I'm wanting to say an Oak Silk Moth, but I could be wrong.

Close, but I don't think that's what it is.

i use to be terrified of moths i mean like refuse to come out from under the bed until i saw it smashed type terrified... even as an adult they still freaked me out until about a year ago when we arrived at the CampFire Tails campsite o.O them bitches were like tree pollen. literally if you tried to yawn youd end up with two in your mouth >.> (thats not the type of two i like in my muzzle *koff*) the next day i was pretty much cured XD

God, I'm that way with crane flies/mosquito hawks/mosquito eaters. I can't STAND those things.

It looks amazing.

I love the "furred" appearance it has on it's main body, and the way the effect even seems to spread into the pattern of it's wings.

Same! I love moths, but the big furry ones are my faves!

I've seen a few of those moths before. Usually when they rest, they hide the eyespots on their lower wings.

Yeah, but I have a feeling these moths had just emerged from their chrysalises. That'd explain why they had their wings open, if they were drying them.

These moths actually emerge from COCOONS, not chrysalises. Only moths make cocoons; butterflies come out of chrysalises.

Ohhhhh...so that's the difference. I always thought they were the same thing. Thanks for the info!
