Even after all these years, this scene from Twister still gives me goosebumps! It also reminds me of my personal tornado experience when I was a little kid. Living in Memphis Tennessee, I was woken up by my mother and grandmother. We had to take cover in the bathroom and there was an EF-2 tornado behind our neighborhood. The trees were swaying violently and lightning was flashing. Had the tornado been a few feet closer, we would have been killed.
And the scene where Jo sees the tornado showing up in the darkness, behind the movie screen, reminding her of the one that killed her father. That scene always resonated with me. Even though, my loved ones and I survived the ordeal. Nevertheless, this is one of my personal favorite parts of the movie! The suspense and the music really make it terrifying!

Know how it is with them. Where I live is known for one thing when it comes to tornadoes... "The Big One."
Yep. The world's widest one, so far. The town was even in the movie Twisters.
(and all I can say, had it headed more towards town... yeah.. Town might've been wiped off the map)

Well due to it missing the town and going the path the it went. It didn't do much damage. So its listed as an F3 (still bad)
But when you see something that huge... ya. Not a good sight
(Also the town has not only been in Twisters but another tornado movie called 13 mins, not great.)
