A rogue’s gallery of characters from a very vivid dream/nightmare a couple nights ago that felt like a weird combo of Scooby-Doo, 1950’s PI shows and Bendy and the Ink Machine/FNAF.
The main character I had the role of in the dream (Bowie) was working in an amusement park helping to uncover a case as an undercover detective. All these folks reported mysterious beings claiming to be one of the company mascots (Roobie and Ringo)(who was this feminine, rubber-hose, Sockhop kangaroo character and her companion, who was a Greaser kangaroo). These mysterious beings kept going after folks (both the visitors and workers). It was fun…. up until Roobie targeted my character in the dream, taunting me and knowing that I was there to “catch them in the act of their escapade, and they’ll treat this like a game in the Ol’ Arcade”. They toyed with the targets, as if playing charades, to lead me to their real location. They revealed themselves to be the cursed wife of Hubird EuBeaks, Millie, who passed on a century ago. The curse afflicted EuBeak’s partner, Walton Densley, and his wife. They had waited a century for someone smart enough to play their game to help them break free from the curse and catch Hubird and punish him for his transgressions. In the end, the wife and my character worked together to break the curse and freed her, and showed my character (Bowie) a memory unveiling the husband’s true character (he was a zealous and bitter thief who took credit for his wife’s creation and was tired of being outshined by his former partner, Walton Densley). He had contacted a sorceress to curse his partner and wife, and was warned multiple times in the process that him using it as means of revenge was going to end badly for him. He heedlessly went on with the need to use it, only to be met with the words “you’ve been warned!”, the last bit of the image shows Walton and Millie being subjected to the same undoings the targets were subjected to (“accidental” injuries and poisonings) . The wife uttered “I gave you the info you needed and you gave me the freedom I sought to move on, however, Walton is still out there as Ringo Roo, discrediting his former partner and doing away with the heads and families of the company he stole from Walton and myself, out of malice for his unwitting demise.” After which she hinted to his whereabouts. He was in the Roo Room Resort awaiting his main target, Hubird, who was still alive thanks to experimental youth serums. Hubird chuckled with the fellow wealthy elites about his next move of using AI to recreate “his” characters and bring them a host of new friends for free, saying he doesn’t want to hire any lousy artists on (partially remarking his former partner and the hate of being outshined by “ameteurs”). Walton was angered, hoping to seek justice. My character was nearby and, of course, he targeted that frustration at my character, saying I was aiding a monster, only to reply back “I know that now, Millie told me.” Only for him to be stopped in his tracks and respond “Then…. you know why I must do what’s necessary to stop his tirades.”. We both had a goal to stop him, Walton wanted to lead Hubird to his undoing, and my goal was now to provide proof of Hubird’s wrong doings. In the end, we succeeded in our goals after a bit of a battle with Hubird and his guards.
