One of the short intro vignettes I did for my (presently unpublished) attempt at a novel. This details events aboard the Imperial Radostnyy-class destroyer Shchedryy as it gets shot down out of Earth orbit by Shibeviet surface-to-space interceptors, setting into motion the series of events which take place in the larger book.
Writing has sort of always been the black sheep of my hobbies. I never really got much attention from it; I'd draw something and people would just fawn over it even if it was sort of half-baked mediocrity in pictures, I'd get my five minutes of fame, and I'd go repeat that cycle over again. With writing I never really got that. I'd spend way longer writing something, because to this day I'm not all that amazing at thinking up writing ideas, then I'd show it to people, and they'd go "Cool but I don't really like reading" or "Cool but I don't really have time to check that out." I sort of got it into my head that it was just because I was horrible at writing (even though arguably for most of my life my writing has been better than my art), and admittedly some of the early stuff I was sending out was pretty bad, and I kept doing iterations trying to get something that was actually "good enough" that people would want to read it. More recently I've gotten a more balanced perspective on the whole thing, and accepted that "Dude, it's 2025, who the hell reads anymore?" (actually quite a good number of people, I know), and I've been writing more for my own sake since then. I don't expect any of the stuff I put up here to get much attention, since shock horror safe for work writing, on furaffinity??!! I just kind of felt like I needed to get these up somewhere other than the dark recesses of my computer that they've been lurking in since I made them, so here they are.
