More old art from 2010! And the first time you'll all see an illusiomaster. This isn't what they usually look like, this one just happened to take the form of one of those rainbow tigers I posted earlier, adding his own aesthetics to the mix. I'm reasonably certain this is the first art I did of Violet Eyes, just not in his usual form- I never did wind up coloring this, but had fun with the inks!

Illusionmasters, also known as beasts of illusion, are magic eating entities that can pull at and alter the strings of reality, albeit temporarily- hence the word illusion. It doesn't mean that what they do is any less 'real', in the moment, just that it's not permanent and will snap back to its default state- they're complicated pains in the ass, and most are just doing whatever they find to be fun. (Alter is actually part illusionmaster, which makes a lot of things make sense.)

I actually can't read the very faint notes on the side there but I think I was making notes about illusionmasters in general, and your guess is as good as mine.
