As of now, I'm in an art slump...:P
To break those, I usually draw wolf warriors and focus on creating an armor design b/c I want to make each image I make matter.
There's no point of having drawing skills if you don't have a creative mind. :/
I'm also trying to define my style slowly so I can try to create consistent pieces.
And during the doodle, I just thought of having the wolf be a creature from a race called Canim from the Codex Alera series.
Btw, I do not know what the fawk I just designed and colored, I went "what's this sh!t?" many times. Need better color choices >:P
Edit: I separated the gold part of the armor so the Canim can bend his torso forward. Just a modification to a flaw in the armor design. :3
Edit2: Apparently Canim are known for their scarlet weaponry.
Notice: Do you guys know
stigmata is doing bust commish that are brilliant? Go check them out and it'd help him A LOT if you bought one =]

Oh man... this is awesome. o.o I'm ADORING the texture and those massive spikes. Also love how the eye really stands out. <3
Pshh, your colour choices are fine. I think the scarlet and gold go together really well. They're the colours of noble warriors after all, and this guy looks like he fits the part, if not a bit more brutal. <3 Awesome work.
Best of luck on getting out of your slump. ^^ Art Blocks suuuuuuck.

This looks brilliant ^^
I really love the design of his armor in the first place. The colors are common, but you can do nothing wrong with it at the same time.
Also the wolf design is pretty neat and I like the jutting teeth which underlines the "readiness to combat" :D
This combined with the great brush strokes makes it a sweet piece of art.

thanks!
I tried to find other colors to work with but you should have seen it in orange, horrendous XD
I think I chose the colors b/c they seem to fit and portray the character more lucidly.
I like it when teeth are exposed out of an animal's mouth, it makes it more alarming than a realistic subject.

Really cool work, you should look into some more armor study, I think it would really help out.
You are losing some of the form, especially with the breast plate(s). You have the wedges that travel straight down the chest almost in a straight line, which is communicating that all the armor is resting on the same plane. It looks like the character is leaning forward just a bit, so I would imagine the plates on the front side of the chest compressing and sliding underneath each other, while the plates in back would be separating a bit more and flaring out (dependent on the design of the armor). It could just fault with the construction of the armor though, as he isn't leaning at such a hard angle. I hope that makes some sense at all, regardless it's pretty a badass painting.

aww shucks XD I was trying to go for the hunched-shoulders battle stance pose but I guess the armor does make him look a little more stiff than I wanted.
Fudge, I should have modified it correctly when I separated the gold on the mail :P
Thanks for depicting that out, I'll be more cautious =]
