And now for something slightly different.
Lately, the interest in Warhammer 40k has dried up a bit in my gaming club and its surroundings which lead to me not really getting to play. One of the games that got popular with us recently was Conquest, which I originally had no intention of starting since I did not want to commit to another costly hobby (especially since I had a few instances in the last years where I tried to start something, spend money and time on it, only for it to die down before I really got to play).
However, the newly released faction for Conquest really caught my attention. The Yoroni are - as the name already tells - drawn from japanese myths and monsters, namely yokai and oni. They appealed to me for multiple reasons:
-I love the theme of japanese monsters
-They are a "brute" army, consisting almost completely of larger monsters (a regular foot soldier goes up to this model's waistline, for comparison), meaning no large amounts of infantry to paint
-The "cohort" box contains 11 models, which is enough to play a regular sized "first blood" (the smaller of the game's two game modes) match without need for additional purchases
This model here is the leader/character contained in the box, a kitsune onmyoji. It is a multi kit that can be assembled as one of two variants, this one being a caster/priest while the other is a skirmisher/assassin.
The tails were incredibly finicky to assemble - 9 tails, each consisting of 2 parts, that have to be assembled in a very particular way to work. But I really like the model!
