This is kind of where the "fantasy" aspect of the Blackshadow's world comes in heaviest. A mysterious lack, swirly spider that should not be touched, but should be followed? At this point, Val is starting to question if his doggie companion is crazy. o.O

I should clear up early: the dog there picked up Valentine, the dark-furred puppy, when he just found him wandering around. The dog has an unfortunately vast knowledge of Val's family, the Blackshadows, and when the notorious Forsaken sends continuous word to bring the puppy to him, the dog simply does as told.
