Andd more old art, I think we just hit 2009 now!! This is a very creative species I made up when I was 12, and very, very creatively called 'rainbowtigers'. I later tried to revise them a bit and give them a better name and revamp them a bit, juggling between eokitch and peacock tigers, but always keep coming back to this, and this was me drawing them for nostalgia's sake.
They are/were an actual species in my headworld, though I have no idea what their current range is- Jawz incorporates bits and pieces of these into her shift forms, or at least used to, and I know there's a big, forested temple a good ways off from Central that has two enormous statues of these guys just way out there, though I don't think they actual species is around those parts anymore. Their tailflames are also novoxia traits, and I used to think that they might have been where Project LAYHR got the idea to incorporate them into the project, whether conceptually or by grabbing bits of the genetic code and tossing them in there. There's also a thing called '[color] prominence' with them, they aren't all this rainbow- you'll have ones that are more heavily a particular shade than another, and can wind up with blue prominence, or anything else.
One of their oldschool traits was that they could channel energy into their claws and superheat them to cut through things. Yeah, I don't know how it worked either. This guy found a lizard though!
I was definitely trying to work on my rendering skills with this, and I remember being really proud of that neck fur!
