There was a gentle snow outside and Dave sat and watched it, beer in one paw. The rest of the house was bustling with friends greeting one another and exchanging gifts, but he was just kind of off alone. He sighed and stood up, walking to the kitchen. That in itself was a fight as he squeezed through people and stopped on multiple occasions for photos that were being taken.
Once he finally got through, he wound up stopping at the doorway. There was a female standing with her back to him, right in the way of getting to the kitchen. He tilted his head backwards and looked up. The tip of his nose brushed against something dangling down and he wrinkled it in reaction. Once he actually looked at it though, he realized it was mistletoe.
A smirk grew across his muzzle and he figured he would at least have some fun with this. He looked at the female who was in front of him. If she thought she could just block the doorway, why should he not think he could get a kiss?
“Excuse me miss,” he said tapping her on the shoulder. She turned to him, her white and purple fur glistening in the light.
“Yes?” she asked, her bright eyes barring into his. Dave lost all of his nerve. His mouth opened and closed a few times with no sound coming out.
“Alright, whatever, just move,” the girl said. He did just that, stepping off to the side so she could get through. His eyes followed her movements through the crowd. He eventually lost track of her he sighed and looked back up at the mistletoe.
“It's a stupid tradition anyway,” he scoffed, going to get another beer.
