‘Saga’ – or CT-5494 as he is officially known, had been assigned to the Coruscant Guard for several years now. Working under the ‘Reds’ as he called them was not exactly an enviable position. Despite what non-clones might think – being dropped into a world run by rules and policies after a decade of intense, packed combat training was not exactly ideal. A far cry from the intense battlefields clones were quite literally made for – half the confrontations here were merely verbal, with the social pressure to remain polite and courteous, courtesy of stuck-up, sneering senators who were more than happy to file a complaint against a clone and condemn them to being ‘decommissioned’.
Saga then was blessed with a patient, relaxed attitude and an easy smile doomed to spend most of its time concealed under the standard-issue clone helmets. It was this exact personality that has left him with one of the cleaner records among Coruscant clones and even befriending a rare few clone-friendly senators, the closest being the Aibian senator Rade Brallar. You wouldn’t think a lone clone and a man who was dwarfed by most bugs would have much in common but… as it turned out, both could more than understand the stress of walking on thin ice constantly and being looked down upon by the masses.
His budding relationship with the micro senator has fortunately opened a few doors for Saga, who for the first time finds himself relaxing and getting comfy on a cushy bed in a hotel room that cost more than the average citizen of the republic would see in a year. While Saga was never one to complain about his lot in life, he had to admit that he could get used to this kind of treatment… and even better, alone in a room with the tiny senator, he could work his helmet off and relax.
…of course Saga wasn’t an idiot – he knew full-well that the tiny man was smitten with him but… even assuming a clone could enter an official relationship with someone in the eyes of the law – which wasn’t a guarantee – he knew all too well that Senator Brallar would only be weakening his position by making anything official with him. Still, that didn’t mean he couldn’t tease the miniscule speck relentlessly, just wiggling his legs was already getting him splutters over their comm-link, it was only going to get better when he finally worked these steaming boots off.
Heh, CT-Dirge – his unofficial partner, who got reassigned to Coruscant from one of the frontline battalions – was going to be jealous for the rest of the week when Saga showed him pictures of the room he got to stay at~

When I randomly came up with a name for one of the clones who discovered Rade Brallar in a story you can read here, I didn’t realise he would capture both me and JordilianVector’s hearts so much. Turns out the idea of a well-meaning, friendly clone who serves as both yet another looming God for a micro and also their sole hope of survival was a fun concept! From there me and Jordilian ironed out more details and ideas about Saga until Jordilian went and found someone to get official art of him from!
Hopefully we will see more Saga in the future – I like to think he’s one of the few rare clones who made it out of the Clone Wars alive.
