I'm sure we've all heard of sirens - devastatingly beautiful mermaid-like creatures who reside on small rocky islands, and lure approaching ships with haunting melodies. Said ships inevitably find themselves wrecked against dangerous cliffs and rocks. Certain sailors of old made it their mission to rid the high seas of these navigational hazards, but the sirens were generally too clever for them. Not always, though. Sometimes, as in cases like this, the hunter does manage to catch his prey - and in this instance both look oddly familiar...
You may remember that last year, I celebrated MerMay by posting a mermaidized version of Blackmask - the last remnant of a more ambitious plan to do the same with all five of SPCM's core heroes. Well, this year, I decided not to aim so high, and settled for simply doing at least one piece this month for MerMay - leaving open the possibility of another if I had a good enough idea (which, spoiler alert, I did not).
