A northbound Auckland Metro "AM" class electric multiple unit arriving at Remuera Station, Auckland, in December 2024. These 3-car units have been running in Auckland since the metro rail network was first electrified in 2014, and are designed to run in the soon-to-be-opened underground City Rail Link section between Waitemata / Britomart and Maungawhau / Mt Eden.
Unlike the Wellington FP/FT "Matangi" EMS, the AM class don't have forward opening doors, due to the Auckland rail network not having narrow single-track tunnels that prevent passengers from evacuating using the main doors in an emergency.
Class: AM
Manufacturer: CAF (Spain)
Power output: 1520 kW
Electric Current: 25KV AC
Number in class: 73 in service
Operator: Auckland One Rail / Auckland Metro

If by S-Bahn you mean "suburban rail", then yes. The Auckland Metro rail network runs four lines as per the network map.
The City Rail Link project will increase capacity through creating an underground section between Britomart and Mt Eden to create a central city loop. This will be the first underground railway built in New Zealand.
