Another drawing in the Sketchbook Project,
kanthara suggested a Gargoyle pic, and since I haven't drawn Gargoyles in forever and a day, I thought "why not?" :)
For the gargoyle, I wanted to draw the face that was different from most Disney Gargoyles stuff...I'm a fan of non-human-looking gargoyles, personally (which is kinda why Brooklyn's my fav!), and thought I'd kinda base her loosely from some of the beasties and groteques from ancient manuscripts.
I thought I'd try something different for this too, and make it a completely inked piece, no colour. This is...so much different from what I'm used to doing XD And I've learned a lot from this style too, maybe I'll do inked pieces again in the future sometime. Just...Not too often. It took FOREVER and my poor microns are weeping.
While I was drawing this, I kinda imagined the gargoyle (nameless) talking to her beast: "One of the scribes came to see me earlier tonight. He asked me if he could practice drawing me so that I might inspire him and he may immortalize me in his manuscript as a grotesque. I'm not sure if I should take it for the compliment for the immortality, or insulted that I'll be pictured as a grotesque..."
Bristol board, micron pens, white gel pen for the stars.
