Shards of Mamoru :: The Valern Skulk - Character Sheet
From left to right, we have the Valern nonuplets: Ethan, Ezrah, Ezekiel, Elias, Ishmael, Isaia, Isaak, Ephraim, and Imanuel.
The first seven foxes through Isaak are identical septuplets. Ephraim and Imanuel, however, originate from a parallel universe, but when they join up with the other seven, they'll all act like brothers anyway. As if they've always been nine. There's good reason for that, of course.
They're all pieces, or shards, of a singular being of great power.
Mikami Mamoru, a kitsune hailing from a pocket dimension home to gods like him and other foreign pantheons. In an effort to defend his home from an invading Eldritch horror, Mamoru was mortally fractured, fell to Earth and inadvertently reincarnated in order to recuperate.
The seven silver foxes were born in North Platte, Nebraska to an American father and a French-Canadian mother. Of course, because of this, the boys are all bilingual. While they can't actually speak Japanese, curiously, they can understand the language if someone were to speak it to them. As yokai themselves, they each have a fraction of Mamoru's power set, and the more of them that gather together, the stronger their magic becomes. Thankfully, they always tend to gravitate towards one another as if subconsciously yearning to reconnect.
As for why Ephraim and Imanuel look so different, in order to stave off the invading force threatening his home, Mamoru forced the growth of his final two tails in order to increase his magic. In short, unlike the other seven tails, they were artificially constructed.
I just want to take this time to thank
crocdragon89 for all that you see here! This was the end result of many months of hard work, effort, and preparation. I'm so happy that this sheet came out the way it did in the end. This has been a long time coming, and in the end, the wait was well worth. I've always wanted to see the nine boys together in one sheet, and I appreciate all the work Croc did to make that possible!
