Day 208 - April 30th, 2741

After all the emotional highs and lows, I needed some time to clear my head. Thankfully walking through the desert is mostly a mindless task, so its easy enough to do. Brick seems no different, I mean we barely spoke since we left yesterday.

Still, that means being alone with my thoughts. Why I'm here. Why I'm chasing down 40. What possible answers can I even receive, and what comes after. So many thoughts, and so many unknowns.

Yet, all these thoughts come back to that black-eyed lady at the Nest. I asked brick if he knew of her, and he didn't but given my description and her actions, Brick told me to stay away if I can help it. Somehow I don't think that choice is mine to make.

Well. I suppose I'll find out in time, we are finding some tracks on the way to the Nest. Though we are probably some days behind. I don't want a confrontation at the Nest, too many innocent people. But we shall see.

I did fill in Brick on what kind of wielder we are, and even showing him that torn paper I found way back in my first several days. Turns out he already guessed we were stealth-based due to my Eltrian body, which was why he only wanted himself to come along for this mission. The others know what wielders are, but only Brick has seen them in action.

And yes, he knew the whole time I was a wielder. It was the primary reason why he wasn't happy to recruit me in the first place. Funny how that changed.

Still, can't help but wonder how much of this ties into what the black-eyed lady expected. Chilling thought.
