This is a sort of tool that's used in a pushing or pulling motion in order to shave away the surface of metal one is working with. It has quite a few uses, though it can be seen often used by bladesmiths in various parts of Eastern Asia.

It has a round chisel end that is able to cut grooves into things. I am hoping to make a few others for cutting in fullers on knives in the future.

The whole bar that holds everything was made mostly with some grinding and a lot of file work. The slot was cut with a hacksaw and the spaces between each cut with the hacksaw was cut out with a chisel before it was all filed flat. The only forged part of this was the tangs and the blade of the cutter.
