Oddly enough, coloring the lines was the hardest part... I'm not doing that again.
Too bad I can't make this my avatar. The one I have now in 7 colors is already bordering the 50k file size limit. And I cut out like three frames. How sad.
Done exclusively in TVPaint, except for some final GIF tweaking in Animation Shop.
What are the odds that the mouse-over preview will look like shit on my front page? I know how to keep it from happening but it would double the file size.
EDIT: Yup, looks like one big purple pile of crap. Can we get FA to fix this?

Ugh, I tried really hard to make this into an avatar under 50KB, but it's impossible.
With all but the last 3 frames in tact and 64 colors (still looked presentable with dithering) I got it down to 113KB (100x100)
Then I tried that version halving the amount of frames and getting like 82KB size.
Only way I see to get it under 50KB is to grayscale it, then give it a 16 color palette. (this is with transparent layer optimization) :\
Anyway this is nice.

Here's the best I could do while maintaining quality and staying under 50KB. (35KB) Albeit the color amount could of been raised from 64 to 128 with it still being 50KB or under.

Then you will have a nice 50x50 version that doesn't meet the size requirements. X3
There was at least one avatar that I was trying to figure out how they uploaded at less-than-50kb, and I looked at the image info, and it was quite a bit more. They might've closed that loophole.

I could try my hand at getting it under 50k, but
You can try cutting the colors to 16 bit perceptive without dithering (looks better imho)
And cutting some frames. I got it to 58k at 100px but I didn't have the original.
Mebbe I'll try again when I'm feeling better :) OR if you care to share the original file I can try that.

Try http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/imageoptimizer/ to op[timize it more. It... sometimes works.
I love your icon animations, I can understand how painstaking it must of took to color those lines X.xU
It would be much easier to just leave the lines black an color the char in their main colors, thats what I do, I hope in the future I commission you for one of these ^-^
