It’s been six months since I first set off on this adventure, and I’m starting to forget the scent of home. A great otter once told me, “A journey shared by two bares half the burden.” It’s a phrase that’s been popping into my thoughts lately. Loresko still doesn’t talk much, but his presence makes me feel at ease. I’m not sure if it’s because I finally have someone who can listen to my ramblings, or if it’s because I know a highwayman would think twice about approaching with a wolf at my side.
Felivar is still three days east, but at least the path is well traveled. I’m not a great navigator, and my memory is about as sharp as a river stone, but through sheer luck I’ve managed. Lore is different though. He seems to remember every passing tree, and what’s worse is I think he’s catching on to my feigned confidence. Maybe it’s a wolf thing, but I don’t think my usual charm is very effective on him. If only I could persuade him into carrying me the rest of the way. My feet are killing me…
