Way back in 2007 I heard Finger Eleven's Paralyzer on the radio for the first time, decided it sounded an awful lot like Julian's theme song, and then immediately sat down, listened to it on repeat for hours, and drew a two page comic fully in marker of him being a bastard.
Here's what you need to know about Julian Resso- first, he's a great biochemist, and enjoys working with chemicals and pharmacodynamics. He's done some very cool things, including coming up with a shift inhibitor/promoter. Second, he's a bastard antagonist, who enjoys getting stabby with syringes when he has the plausible licensing to do so, such as somebody kicking up a ruckus in the lab and being a 'safety concern'. And three, he does Not like being kicked in the shins or bitten, which are very reasonable reactions to have when somebody is doing the second.
(He's a bastard, but he's not a total asshole [s]and is actually squeamish[/i], and has no interest in doing any real or lasting damage- that is just a sedative in his pocket, thank you for noticing. Still, plenty of excuses to be ominous when uh, 'helping' security apprehend somebody. He prefers to pick fights he's reasonably sure he can win, and at 6'2 and with chemistry in his pocket that's a fair few of them, though he has a habit of biting off more than he can chew. This was not one of those times.)
He's developed a lot and mellowed at least a bit throughout the years, but he'll still be a bastard when he gets the chance. Spectrum's golden boy has a bit of a sadistic streak.
(Also unfortunately I didn't know how to draw people shorter than him without looking younger than I intended, but he isn't that much of an asshole.)
