My father (with a few beers in him to get him to talk) loves to tell the tale of one of the summers in the early 60's where it snowed in July in central Maine and he got grounded as a result. Why? Well, at the time, he grew vegetables and supplied local stores with said veg. He noticed how cold it was getting, saw the storm clouds approaching and quickly covered his tomato plants to protect them. He saved them, but got grounded 'cause he covered them with the bed sheets that had just been washed and hung-out to dry by his mother.
