Due to their transformation into #anthro animals, the body proportions of many students and teachers have also changed radically: Smaller or larger, broader or slimmer. The student Amy Bloomberg (ladybug) shrank a head length, for example, and teacher Lewis Townsend (ox) grew massively in width and height. Over time, beast fashion becomes popular at Kilima school; sometimes to the frustration of the teaching staff when it comes to revealing clothing.
"Three schoolgirls from the fifth grade caused a scandal. Their attractive partner look consisting of arm and leg bandages, strings and scraps of fabric, which they wore to class one morning, was very reminiscent of the revealing clothing style of defenders and left little to the imagination. Their appearance not only earned them plenty of puzzled looks and shrill whistles, but also a memorable scolding - faster than they could even wag their tails seductively."
Of course, there are also less obscene examples:
"White bloomers made of simple cloth that reached slightly over the shins and were reminiscent of the stories of the Arabian Nights were a popular choice for the newcomers from Kilima and were praised for their comfortable feel."
As there are no shoes in Nyika's world, the barefoot look is also omnipresent at Kilima School.

ha! so you also have a FA account XD
I would love to chat with you one day. Meeting storywriters (at least to me) is a rarety and I really would like to geek arround with both our shifitng aspects!
btw, I also looked into your webpage. First of all, great idea! I should do that too!!! *takes notes*. But maybe some of my tipps/critiques cause whenever I work on my stuff... I wish more people would actually engage and tell me what they think. So if you'Re the same, feel free to continue reading, if not... well, dont. Its mostly just formating critiques which, I'd say would engage more people XD
- First of all. I'm amazed by the details, but this is also the first critique point... in our times, most dont want to read this much... So I would recomend to have smaller pages but more of them.
--> this makes the first appearance less overwhelming. When I saw this one giant page, I was like "damn, nah... I dont wanna read all of this!"...
--> ... but if you make one nice colorfull home/landing page with hyperlinks (I'd use floating cards, aka images with subtitles) to each individual section/catefories
for example:
What if kilima and Nyiaka?
whats the cast
whats the plot
(basically what you said in your big text, choped up into more digestable little posts)
this:
a) looks much better
b) appeals with lots of color and invides to look further by clicking on the picutres
c) gives more info at once:
- then I would switch from a storytelling writing to more of an informative. but this is a very vague point.
but in the end, those are just my critique points. The fact that you at least did something, is better then any critique!!!
Stay cozy, stay curious! 🐾

Hi,
yeah, unfortunately I'm aware of the "laziness" of people when it comes to reading, especially when sitting on the PC or with a phone in their hands. That's a big disadvantage we writers have in comparison to illustrators. “A picture is worth a thousand words” is a popular saying that it takes less effort to understand something if you just look at it, whereas it takes much more time and imagination to read a text. But that is the burden we have to shoulder. The only way around it (in my opinion) is to create comics. But that's not my style. I'm an author by heart.
I drive in two lanes when it comes to providing information about my novel: Big, informative sites, which provide a great overview about the project. And then there's social media, where I pick little details and highlight them, while still providing links to the source material. To paraphrase Plato (in my own words): "There is no sure way to success, only one way to failure: to please everyone." In the end, that's the way I decided to walk. No turning back for me.
In case you'd like to enhance the conversation, hit me up on Discord. I'm always happy when people have more to say than "Hello! How are you? How is the weather? dO yOu wAnT tO cOmMisSiOn mE?! i hAvE gReAt iDeAs fOr yOuR cHaRaCtErS!!!!"
