A while back, I suddenly devised the idea for a slice-of-life story called Meeting the Deadline. The story goes: a group of four coworkers work to meet an important 3-week deadline set by their oppressive boss. In the meantime, we follow their lives as they quickly evolve through this 21-day period.
Ernest Adams: What most people would consider to be "very normal" and "just average." Ernest doesn't have an interesting life, he just rolls with the flow of the status quo, but he is a familiar to those around him. He met his friends during his time in elementary school, and they've stuck ever since. Molly has since become his girlfriend, and they have plans to marry soon. He's decently smart, mentored by his friend Ignasius who also helped the others. Dest is typically considered to be Ernest's closest buddy, primarily because he kills time channel surfing on Dest's head. His boss isn't quite fond of Ernest, especially not after he induced him a heart attack during a fit of rage, hence the vendetta. The others in the office think okay of him, he's tolerable and not much of an annoyance.
Molly Yeun: Molly may look sweet because of her stature, but she's kind of a hothead. Her temper tends to be on the shorter side, and she's a bit overconfident in her work. That's not to say she's not smart or productive, but she has her frequent flaws. Her family has high standards for success, but Molly decides to just brush them away and do things at her pace.
Ignasius Ulixes: Like his name suggests, Ignasius is quite the intellectual. He has zero tolerance for slackery or idiocracy and will vocally let people know. Despite that, he truly cares for the success of everyone around him, and is willing to "go down with the ship" if a situation is dire. So while his pushiness and borderline rudeness might rub people off the wrong way, he means well.
Pixel "Dest" Griffiths: Doctors still have no idea to this day how Pixel, or Dest, was born with a TV on his head. It's perfectly functional and displays his face so as long as the TV is on. Contrary to popular belief, turning the TV off does not turn Dest as a whole off. He's got a couple of subscriptions to some popular streaming services as well as (wireless) cable, so he usually gets tasked with letting people watch whatever.
Dest was adopted from @Nyuzzzz, special thanks to you!!
