This is Present Fred, who bugged out of the catacombs when the Blood and Bone troopers were arriving, leaving Future Fred, who can't be seen in bright light, back in the dark caverns. Present Fred is also unaware of how Future Fred has been behaving toward Katre. Future Fred gets Present Fred's memories as they're made, but Present Fred has no idea what Future Fred is up to.

No joke, though--I've been studying the older Looney Tunes cartoons, and the artwork is stunning. I mean, expressions, poses, backgrounds, everything--a master class in art, really. Especially the Pepe le Pew cartoons, believe it or not. I know they catch a lot of hate, but if you are into art, just take a look at Pepe's facial expressions, or how he embraces the cat. (Yes, I know "she has a name," but if you study the cartoons, it's a different cat in each cartoon!)

While the main cast are spotted hyenas, they do interact with many other species. One of the things I enjoy doing is researching the real-world animals to try to create the sort of culture their anthro versions might have, and how the different species interact with each other.
My characters are not just "humans with masks on," they have animal characteristics. That's half the fun of creating this story!
