Phase 3 - Clear house and secure the route forward. Using my stone, I focused on the heavy barrier the two guards used for cover. Concentrating and pulling out whatever power I could from this little thing, I threw everything I could on the barrier. It launched a good few feet away from me but directly into the guards, knocking them over. I used the stone to restrain the one that was recovering the quickest. Allowing Brick to mow down the 3rd guard.

With the 4th restrained we marched, guns drawn. He surrendered, so I let go of him with the stone. Good thing as I was losing the strength to hold him. We demanded he opened the door. He looked at me strangely. Then sheepishly said "Oh shit" under his breath. He recognized my face, but not from me. He has seen 40, and seeing my face confused him enough to reveal that to me.

I demanded he open the door and tell me where 40 went. Terrified, he exclaimed that only personell with clearance to access the Void could open the door. 40 was one, but at this moment, nobody else had access. The guards and workers were just that, guards and workers. Who came in and out were external parties.

Brick didn't say a word, but I could feel the anger build up inside him, thinking it was all for nothing. I put my hand on his gun, signaling him to stand down. I had a hunch and took out Lisa May's keycard from my backpack. On the surface, she might've seen like a simple worker, but to work in such a top secret facility must've come with some special clearances.

And I was right. The door opened. Both Brick and the guard looked at me dumbfounded. I told Brick I would explain later, but then asked the guard where 40 was going. He said she was being reassigned and was on her way to the Nest. For that, I asked Brick to let the guy go. He honored the request, but he picked up the guards service pistol and put a bullet in his shooting hand. Not what I wanted for the guy, but I guess even in merciful acts, we need to take precautions.

And with that, we made it. Closed the door behind us and put as much distance as we could between us and the Foundry. Fucking Hell, we might actually get through this.
