Day 199 - April 21st, 2741

Rested up the best we could. Brick is a bit more mobile now. We had some surplus medical equipment left behind so Brick's wounds are as good as we can get them. Lots of cuts all over. Not sure what Rose tried to do to him, but he described it as if his armor spouted knives digging into him from all sides.

While cleaning Brick's wounds, we discussed what we should do next. Remembering back when I was in that obelisk portal network, I heard a lot of STEEL soldiers talking. The other back-up plan to escape from the Foundry was through a route used by STEEL. Primary reason it was avoided was because it would be one hell of a fight to get through, but not impossible.

STEEL is well equipped and well armed. Brick might be fine with his armor and machine gun, but me? All I have is salvaged/homemade armor and semi-autos. True I have the stone, but what will it do against a hail of bullets? So in other words, I need better gear, an Brick knew where I could get it. The first hideout.

We weren't coming back to this place so we took everything we could, and headed out. Thankfully with the commotion above ground, people were staying home so it was an uneventful trip.

When we got there, Brick pulled at a random support beam and it turned out to be a lever, opening a small compartment I didn't know existed.

It had armor, a shotgun, ammo, a couple repair kits, and medical equipment. I'll let Brick keep the shotgun.

Brick told me it once belonged to a fallen member of the gang in the early stages of this operation. Her name was Sara, and was a very skilled fighter. It's typically taboo within Quincy to wear armor of a fallen member, but I'm no member, and needs must.

Tomorrow, we attack the STEEL Facility. Do or die, we don't have any other option. Lily, I know you wouldn't approve what I'm about to do, but please forgive me.


--Notes--
- Surprisingly light, but sturdy and flexible.

- Cloak is made of a kevlar composite. Hood has a collapsible steel frame. Getting shot will still hurt, but won't kill.

- Original helmet was destroyed. .50 caliber straight through the visor. Not salvageable.
