Sage grew up in Sydney Australia with his sisters, his mom and stepdad. When Sage was 15 years old, he entered a national surfing competition and won first place. This launched the start of his surfing career where he had several brand deals and sponsorships. He ended up retiring from surfing at the age of 22. From the age of 22 to 26 Sage was in a band called Love like Revenge, where he was the lead guitarist. He dated the lead singer, Jesse Baker for four years, then had a messy break up after Jess cheated on him, with a groupie. After this, wanting independence and to get away from his homophobic dad, He decided to move to America. Sage moved to Los Angeles, where he got a job at club Phoenix as a bartender and decided to put his past as a professional surfer behind him. While working at club Phoenix, he meets Dante, who is a bouncer at the club and coincidentally, also the lead singer of his own band Helldogz, he invites Sage to join, and Sage becomes the lead guitarist, unbeknownst to sage, his band mate knox is jealous of him getting lead, as well as capturing Dantes affection. The band goes through many trials and tribulations, but in the end they manage to stick together for a while
