I think all the "villainous" looney tunes heroes have their loveable sides, so it only makes sense for that to come out more strongly when they're babies. I always think of Sylvester as more of a victim, anyway, even when he's determined to get Tweety (or Speedy). He's just too nice to be the bad guy! ^.^
