So at around 8:30 in the morning during the weekend of the 4th of July, I was awaked by my friend Chris saying that a bird had flown into the window. Being the Dr. Doolittle that I am, I jumped outta bed and followed him down stairs. There laying on its side, was this little guy. Chris got me a dish towel, I carefully picked up the bird, and looked it over. At first, I thought it was dying as it would not close it's mouth, and it's eyes were closed, but it soon opened them again and I realized it was just severely stunned.
Still, I looked over the bird to make sure it was ok. It wasn't bleeding and it's wings didn't seem to have any unnatural bends. After a few minutes, it began to uncurl it's toes and I managed to get it to sit on my finger. I noticed that it's back claw was much larger than the rest and figured it was some kind of treecreeper. I tried gently bobbing my hand a bit to give the little guy some incentive to fly, but it still was pretty disorientated.
So, setting it on the bench under the window, we set out some water in a measuring cup, and left it be to try to recoup on it's own, still keeping an eye on it. I decided to stay up and hit the shower. Afterwards, I came back and asked Chris how the bird was. He said he when he went to look out the window at it, it jerked it's head in his direction, pooped, and then flew away, lol.
After some research, it turned out it was a white-breast nuthatch, a member of the treecreeper family. Very cool, as I have never seen one being the city girl I am.
Will scrap later. Just wanted to share a story with a happy ending. =3

Awww that happens here all the time in the winter, since we have a door-wall [sliding glass door] in the living room and birds fly into it some times. =/ so My mom and I go out and save the ones that get stunned like your little guy.
Glad he was okay and just stunned. ^__^
